Girls in ict 2022

The International Girls in ICT Conference/Workshop on Thursday 5th May 2022

The Internet Society – Sierra Leone Chapter (ISOC-SL) in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Women Engineers, Sierra Leone Girl Guide Association, Freetown City Council Education Department, Women Mean Business, and several ICT focussed organisations will be hosting the 2022 International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Annual Girls in ICT Day. The objective of the conference is to showcase ICT/IT as a viable career for girls with the anticipatory result of greater inclusion of girls into Sierra Leone’s Information and Communications Technology sector. This event will help in mitigating the huge gender imbalance in the ICT sector. The conference/workshop will host schoolgirls from a diverse range of girls’ schools in the Western Area and North West Region of Sierra Leone.
